Application and use

Thanks to its special treatment the matt surface of HERMA PETP white matt laser offers an excellent print quality in screen, letterpress and flexo printing.

The film may also be printed with laser printers and it is possible to write on the film with ballpoint pens, pencils etc.

HERMA PETP white matt laser suits perfectly for production of labels that have to be resistant to high temperature and moist environment (e.g. type plates).

Adhesive 62Z has a very wide spectrum of applications. It is suitable for rough and curved surfaces as well as for synthetic surfaces and packaging films. The adhesive is highly resistant to light, heat and ageing. Typical areas of application for this coated kraft liner are computer labels for laser printers (continuous or sheet stock), which require higher stiffness and excellent stay-flat characteristics.

The material complies with BS 5609 Section Two (Resistanceto Sea Water).

Regulations concerning contact with food

All ingredients of adhesive 62Z comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Z can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 5 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating plastic films. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 17.04.2027).

Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 62Z can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from April 29, 2021).

The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
