Application and use

Thanks to its special surface treatment the glossy surface of HERMA PP transparent extra tc offers an excellent printing quality in all conventional printing methods like e.g. UV flexographic printing.

The primer on the back ensures perfect anchorage of the adhesive. In combination with the appropriate adhesive, this product is perfect for applications where the removability of the label is required.

This film is not intended for use in unprinted zigzag applications, in which the coated print surface is in contact with itself.

HERMA PP transparent extra tc is perfect for the production of optically demanding, glossy transparent labels. For recycling reasons these labels are preferably used on PP surfaces. It is particularly suitable for labelling cosmetic products, cleaning agents etc., as well as for applications demanding resistance to chemicals or weather.

Adhesive 52C shows with a good initial tack, a good repositionability on various surfaces. On polar surfaces with a low roughness like glass, steel, paper the 52C becomes permanent after longer periods of time. In combination with filmic face materials a long-term removability with good adhesion on several synthetic surfaces remains. Therefore and based on the good resistance is 52C also usable for resealable labels in wet wipes with a higher adhesion. 52C is very UV stable and can be used as No-Label-Look-labels in multi-colour UV printing.52C is highly water-resistant and is particularly resistant to light, heat, water and ageing.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all usual machines. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (517) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is two years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

HERMA PP transparent extra tc is in compliance with Commission Regulations (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 as amended on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food as well as of Regulation (EC) no. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 52C can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty food. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for lamination of various materials. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 52C can be used for labelling of blood bags (Declaration of no objection valid until 26.03.2027).

The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
