Application and use

HERMAcoat recycling with 100 % recycled fibre is a sustainable and versatile label paper for multicolour printing. The natural white, semi-gloss coated surface of HERMAcoat recycling offers good print quality with all conventional printing methods. Thermal transfer printing is also possible, pre-testing is recommended. Due to the recycled fiber the paper has low tensile strength, which is why the production speed should not be too high.

The ecological advantage of recycled paper is mainly due to the significantly reduced water and energy requirements in fibre preparation and the elimination of long transport routes for primary fibres.

The face paper has the "Blue Angel" ecolabel.

The adhesive 62Gpo is a coloured adhesive with very high opacity. By the use of the innovative 2-layer-technology a very high tack even on moist and very cold surfaces can be reached. 62Gpo suits particularly well for labelling of polar and non-polar surfaces such as plastic containers, packaging films and plastic bottles, but also on cardboard and other packaging materials. Less suitable for strongly curved surfaces or tight radii.Based on the very high opacity 62Gpo is typically to correct the information, to translate country-specific changes or to avoid read errors e.g. for oversticking barcodes.

Once labelled the adhesive is highly waterproof.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

Processing

As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PH (523) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is two years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

All ingredients of adhesive 62Gpo comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Gpo can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 3 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (Declaration of no objection valid until 16.11.2025).

The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
