Thanks to its special surface treatment the glossy surface of HERMA PP 50 transparent super tc offers an excellent printing quality in all conventional printing methods.
This film is not intended for use in unprinted zigzag applications, in which the coated print surface is in contact with itself.
HERMA PP 50 transparent super tc is perfect for the production of optically pretentious, glossy transparent labels. It is particularly suitable for labelling cosmetic products, cleaning agents etc., as well as for applications demanding resistance to chemicals or weather.
The adhesive 52W is developed for recycling applications where the label has to be removed in warm alkaline water. By the specific removal of the label from the substrate, the bottles can be recycled cleanly. The adhesive 52W is just recommended for PET substrates like PET bottles or PET packaging. On polyolefin substrates like PE or PP the adhesion can be too low.
Finishing: The soft adhesive requires special care during further processing.Printing machines in which the adhesive material is exposed to very high temperatures above 70 ° C for a long time are not recommended for further processing. Printing on conventional printing machines (such as UV Flexo) does not pose any problems in further processing
Recyclability: Good results are reached with 65 °C in 1 % alkaline water. 52W was specially designed for PET bottles e.g. for beverages, detergents, cosmetics, personal care which can be recycled in industry-standard recycling facilities. A main characteristic of the product is that the adhesive is separated from substrate and label material and therefore the plastic flakes do not get sticky after drying in the recycling process. This enables a clean separation by sink-float separation and air elutriation.
The specific application conditions should be verified by pre-tests.
The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is one year from date of production.
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 52W can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correctionfactor of at 2 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. (Declaration of no objection valid 26.07.2025)
The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
