Application and use

HERMAmartelé cream is ideal for labelling of wine, spirit and other beverage bottles.

HERMAmartelé cream is suitable for all traditional printing methods. Due to the textured surface of the label paper, best printing results can be achieved by using printing methods with a conformable printing plate. For the printing of very small and sophisticated elements offset printing is recommended.

Suitability tests under application-specific conditions are recommended.

The pulp for this paper is from FSC® certified forests and other controlled sources.

62B is a universally applicable adhesive with higher-than-average properties. It offers excellent tack and outstanding peel adhesion on both polar and nonpolar surfaces. The adhesive is suitable for autoclave sterilisation, preferably in combination with vellum paper.

Typical uses for this biaxially stretched polyester film are high-speed labelling machines with optical or mechanical scanning.

Processing

Excellent die-cutting characteristics on all customary machines. In a self-adhesive compound HERMA PET offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all usual flatbed and rotary die-cutting machines.

Storage conditions

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

The shelf life is four years from date of production.

Regulations concerning contact with food

All ingredients of adhesive 62Bcomply with recommendation FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62B can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 4 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating various materials. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 29.11.2025).

Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 62B can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from Nomvember 11, 2021).
