Application and use

Thanks to its special finish the matt surface of HERMA PETP silver SR offers an excellent print quality in screen, letterpress and flexo printing.

In addition the surface displays an extreme resistance against mechanical load, such as scratching.

HERMA PETP silver SR is perfect for production of labels that have to be resistant to high temperature and moisture surroundings (e.g. type plates).

The film may be printed via thermal transfer printing. Convenient inscription with ballpoint pens, pencil is possible.

Thanks to its aggressive adhesive characteristics adhesive 63B is particularly suitable for critical surfaces such as cardboard and ampoules. The adhesive is highly water-resistant and is suitable for labelling cold and humid surfaces. It is extremely resistant to light, heat and ageing.

The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.

The material is listed by UL under- MH26322 (“Marking and Labeling System Materials” PGGU2)

Printed labels of this material are listed under- MH26479 (“Printing Materials” PGJI2)- MH26479 (“Printing Materials Certified for Canada” PGJI8)

Regulations concerning contact with food

All ingredients of adhesive 63B comply with recommendation FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 63B can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 4 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating various materials. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 29.11.2025).
