HERMA PP flex white (840) is a new 45 µm PP label film without topcoat with very good printability. After corona pretreatment, the well wettable outer layer of the PP film can be printed in UV flexographic printing just as well as conventional corona PE label films or topcoated PP films.
Despite the low film thickness, the stiffness and dispensability of HERMA PP flex white are comparable to standard PP films. This reduces the amount of material usage and thus contributes to sustainability - without compromising on processing speeds and production efficiency. The film has been specially developed for applications where white PE films with a significantly higher thickness are normally used.
HERMA PP flex white is suitable for labelling a wide range of products, from cosmetics, household and cleaning products to beverage and food packaging.
HERMA PP flex clear can be used to produce very attractive, white, glossy labels, which are preferably used on polyolefin plastic surfaces for recycling reasons.
Adhesive 62Z has a very wide spectrum of applications. It is suitable for rough and curved surfaces as well as for synthetic surfaces and packaging films. The adhesive is highly resistant to light, heat and ageing. The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners. As part of a self-adhesive compound HERMA PW (517) offers excellent die-cutting characteristics with all customary flatbed and rotary die-cutting tools.
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is one year from date of production.
The label film HERMA PP flex white is in complinace with Commission Regulation (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 and subsequent amendments up to Regulation (EC) no. 2024/3190 on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food as well as of Regulation (EC) no. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
All ingredients of adhesive 62Z comply with recommendation BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Z can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 5 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, the adhesive may be used for laminating plastic films. In this case, cut edge contact with food is harmless as far as the above mentioned adhesive is concerned. It must be ensured that the relevant migration limits are complied with by the laminated packaging (Declaration of no objection valid until 17.04.2027).
Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 62Z can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from April 29, 2021).
The paper liner complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.
