HERMAtherm PP essential (827) combines the characteristics of thermal papers with the durability of PP films.
Printing speeds of up to 150 mm/s are possible in direct thermal printing.
Printing with traditional printing methods like UV flexo is also possible. However ink keying of the preprint in wet condition may be limited. The inks should be suitable for printing thermal films, consulting of ink supplier is recommended.
Web temperature during curing should not exceed 50 °C in order to prevent an early reaction of the thermo reactive layer.
It is generally recommended to carry out tests in advance under customer- and application-specific conditions.
The thermal print of HERMAtherm PP essential (827) features a high water resistance and a limited oil resistance. HERMAtherm PP essential (827) does not contain BPA, BPB and BPS. It is suitable for applications where high durability is required such as logistic labels, luggage tags or the labelling of food packaging.
The adhesive 62Xpc is specially developed for filmic face material. Through the use of 2-layer technology and ideally optimised layers, the conversion properties become excellent and the adhesion properties are above average. A good wettability combined with a high transparency of the adhesive layer give a visually appealing result. Once applied the adhesive is insensitive against humidity, soaps and oil and therefore suits specially well for product labelling in hygiene and cosmetic industry.
62Xpc is suitable for applications on plastics such as PP, PE, PET, and PS, as well as on glass. The adhesive has been successfully tested for removability in the glass recycling process in accordance with the CETIE test method. The final assessment of the recyclability of the labelled bottle remains the responsibility of the respective end user or distributor placing the product on the market.
62Xpc features good resistance to light, heat and aging.
The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.HDPE Recycling:The material can be completely separated in the HDPE stream by cold washing (40 °C). It is fully compatible with rigid HDPE recycling stream according to RecyClass.
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is two years from date of production.
The basefilm of HERMAtherm PP plus (827) is in compliance with Commission Regulations (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 as amended on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food.
The thermosensitive top side can be used for indirect food contact (dry/fatty/aquageous), while the reverse side is suitable for direct contact with foodstuffs. Food should be washed or peeled before consumption.
All ingredients of adhesive 62Xpc comply with recommendations BfR XIV or FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 62Xpc can be safely used for the back coating of labels for labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature or below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 3 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. With regard to the results of the formulation evaluation and the migration analyses it can be derived that the adhesive grade does not have a harmful effect on the content of blood bags and that the requirements of the standard mentioned above are met in this case (EN ISO 3826-1 "Plastics Collapsible Containers for Human Blood and Blood Components, Part 1: Conventional containers, Paragraph 8.5 label requirements"). Declaration of no objection valid until 10.08.2028
The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.Label material
