HERMAtherm PP essential (827) combines the characteristics of thermal papers with the durability of PP films.
Printing speeds of up to 150 mm/s are possible in direct thermal printing.
Printing with traditional printing methods like UV flexo is also possible. However ink keying of the preprint in wet condition may be limited. The inks should be suitable for printing thermal films, consulting of ink supplier is recommended.
Web temperature during curing should not exceed 50 °C in order to prevent an early reaction of the thermo reactive layer.
It is generally recommended to carry out tests in advance under customer- and application-specific conditions.
The thermal print of HERMAtherm PP essential (827) features a high water resistance and a limited oil resistance. HERMAtherm PP essential (827) does not contain BPA, BPB and BPS. It is suitable for applications where high durability is required such as logistic labels, luggage tags or the labelling of food packaging.
Adhesive 92K has been specially developed for deep-freeze applications. Initial tack on frozen surfaces of -20°C is excellent. Adhesion is equally good on damp surfaces. With ambient temperatures, both initial tack and final adhesion are excellent on unpolar surfaces such as PE and PP films.
The supercalendered glassine is perfectly suited for assignment in labelling machines equipped with optical or mechanical scanners.Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
The shelf life is one year from date of production.
The basefilm of HERMAtherm PP plus (827) is in compliance with Commission Regulations (EC) no. 1935/2004 and (EU) no. 10/2011 as amended on plastics and articles intended to come into contact with food.
The thermosensitive top side can be used for indirect food contact (dry/fatty/aquageous), while the reverse side is suitable for direct contact with foodstuffs. Food should be washed or peeled before consumption.
All ingredients of adhesive 92K comply with recommendation FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (Adhesives).
The paper complies with recommendation BfR XXXVI.Label material
